Letting God Answer......

I have learned many time that God will always answer our prayers! The reality is that we almost never pay enough attention to acknowledge His answers. Why? Well, that's because human nature doesn't want to recognize an answer such as "wait" or "no"! That's just the way we are wired. We have to train ourselves to always be watching; and humble enough to accept the answers we may not desire.

But, it is always amazing to see God answer prayers with a "Yes" or in such definitive detail, we cannot help but praise Him. When Allison and I went through the process of deciding to follow God's latest call on our life in ministry, we had to have a clear and concise answer. We asked God to show us two very specific answers. He did!!!! It was wild and amazing. As a result God has blessed our time in ministry this round, more than we could could have imagined. Most of those blessings have been through lessons we have learned, and growth we have experienced. But, we have been able to acknowledge God's hand in our lives and never doubt His call.

I have had a dream come true this past week. Ever since I watched The Great Outdoors with John Candy or Harry and the Hendersons when I was a kid I have loved one car. That car is the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. You know, the big 4x4 wagon with wood grain and a classic set of lines. What an amazing, timeless car and design. I have prayed for many years that God would bring me a good one, at a good price. Being a car with a "cult following", it can be hard to find a reasonable deal on one of these. But, this past week He brought one to me. It is not a perfect car, but a good one! It will need some work and resource. As I was thinking about this today, I was reminded of ministry. Sometimes our ministry maybe the best position, or dream position that matches our passions. But, sometimes that ministry must flex, change or grow to become the full masterpiece God designed. We have to be willing to follow him and work hard! But, we must never lose sight of what He has called us to, and never forget to give Him thanks for bringing us to that ministry. It is like Nehemiah, he was provided what he needed through God's hand. The key is that he recognized that, he acknowledged God's hand! Don't remember or believe, check out Nehemiah chapter 2.....
