It's Not Just You!

No doubt sometimes you want to give up...As a matter of fact, most Mondays carry that very sentiment with pastors worldwide. We have given all we have, spent ourselves and are worn out when the weekend comes to a close. The enemy attacks and makes us feel useless. In honesty, most Mondays, I feel as though my sermon was awful, my work is in vain and my purpose is null. Then, when oppositions shows up, people get upset with me or I face personal struggles or sickness...I fight the urge to give up and give in. It's the wildest feeling, a powerful battle and a reality most folks never get to see.

But, I realized something....That is pride, that is insecurity, that is a lack of faith and all of them are sin on my behalf. The problem is not the world, the problem is not people, the problem is not my inadequacy...The problem is ME! I doubt God's ability to sustain me, use me and equip me. And that is rooted in pride and a desire to be sufficient on my own (I'm seeking my own glory over God's!) ....See, God has called me to something powerful, something unique and something only I can do. Better yet, God only called me to it because He knows I am the person He can use, the person He has equipped and the person He loves enough to give the opportunity. THE SAME IS TRUE FOR YOU TOO!

How powerful is that? WOW! No matter the struggles I face, the emotions that are at war in me and the fear I face...God is sufficient and it is God at work in me and though me. It is not me...It is God!

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Peter 4:10-11

Quit being concerned with your glory....And focus on God getting the glory by sustaining you!
